    • About Me

      Teaching Goals & Style
    • I worked at Richland Library for 23 years and also worked as substitute teacher at many schools after retirement. I had 13 years university level teaching experience before diving into the world of Ikebana art. Since after retiring from my librarian career in 2013, I have been tirelessly traveling across state line to train with Sogetsu Riji Instructor Ms. Hideko Rainey.

Writing, lecturing and flower arrangement have thus become the focal points of my retired life.

I have organized numerous seeding programs at Richland Library and Eastpoint Academy of Columbia, SC.

The story was published in the Ikebana International Magazine Vol 62 -Issue 2, 2018. p. 50-51.

      See attachments below.

    • Sowing Seeds for "Families and Flowers" (By Lucy Spence)

Seeding Programs at Richland Library published in the Sakura News of Ikebana International Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan Vol.62 Issue 2

Sowing seeds comments: Ikebana for Mother's Day has been well-received by kids regardless genders at schools and libraries over years. It is also the most rewarding program to our participating members.

This annual Mother's Day event brings together families, flowers, and chapter members in Columbia, South Carolina. Together, they share the joy of flowers and plant the seeds of ikebana with the community's children.
